Before You Arrive: Beach Ride Safety Briefing
Welcome, and thank you for booking your Horses on the Beach experience
A few minutes here will make your ride smoother and safer. Please read before you arrive.
What to wear
- Closed-toe shoes are required. Boots or sneakers are perfect. No sandals or open toes.
- Long pants are strongly recommended to prevent chafing.
- Dress in layers for coastal weather. It is often cooler and windier at the beach than inland.
Weight and fit
- For the safety of our horses, riders must be under 240 lb.
- Tell us in your intake form the height and experience of each rider so we can match the right horse.
Safety basics
- Helmets are provided and required for riders under 18, and available for everyone.
- Always approach a horse from the front or side, never directly behind.
- Your guide stays with you the entire ride. Follow their cues and speak up any time you feel unsure.
- Keep a calm, quiet voice around the horses. Sudden noise or movement can startle them.
What the day looks like
- Arrive 15 minutes early to check in, meet your horse, and get fitted.
- Your guide gives a short ground lesson before you mount.
- The ride follows the trail and beach at a relaxed walk, ideal for beginners.
Before you come
- Complete your Pre-Ride Intake form so we have your rider details and emergency contact.
- Sign your release waiver if you have not already.
See you at the barn. You are going to love it.
